PKLeaks 26.0: Rift Deepens: Government and the Army beyond Reconciliation
The Taliban fiasco and the consequent goof-up has deepened the rift between Pak Army and Civilian Administration. The embarrassment became heavy after the release of a clip featuring Taliban leader Mullah Fazel Akhund, wherein he accuses Pakistan of spoiling everything. The covered up story of gun fight between DG-ISI's bodyguards and the Taliban has also come out in public. The Afghan Adventure ultimately led to spoiling our reputation and credibility in the international arena apart from the Afghan Administration itself turning hostile to us.
The worst outcome of this episode is the rift between our Government and the Army, whose relationship is now beyond reconciliation. The reluctance from PM to accept DG-ISI's removal, has further damaged his strained relationship with the COAS.
It appears to be heading to a situation of either the Army or the Government, as both cannot co-exist under their existing dispensations.
