PKLEAKS 24.0: Empty Rhetoric on Minority Welfare: Huge number of Government posts lying vacant

    Welcome to "PKLEAKS_24.0"......
Our beloved Prime Minister has been very categorical in protecting and promoting the rights of minorities in Pakistan both in his speeches and media releases. Moreover, he has personified himself as the guardian of minority rights not only within our country, but worldwide. But as always, deeds totally differ from words.
It is a matter of grave concern that incidents of violence, alienation and forced conversion are on a steeper rise in our country, tarnishing our global reputation and hampering our ability to help our brothren in non-Islamic countries.
While our government dismisses episodes of violence and alienation as isolated cases driven by situational sentiments or emotions, it has no reason to explain the huge vacancy of minority reserved posts in government service, but mistrust and insensitivity.
It becomes evident that the government does not trust the minorities and have no candid intention to promote their welfare and hence deliberately avoid recruiting them.
Finally, the Supreme Court( Yes!!! It exists) categorically questioned the government on the current 2% representation of minorities in government service against the 5% statutory quota. This exercise by the CJI may result in the formation of Committee(as usual) to study the current representation and to propose necessary steps to improve minority representation in future. However, with the current pace of minority killings and hostility, the issue of minority representation may not remain as an issue by the time the committee submits its proposals.
After all, we need minorities to be physically present in our country, so that they could be hired and employed in service. It appears a distant possibility in the not so distant future!!!!.
