Time for 22nd article, throwing light on one of the biggest agendas of our government. The agenda was bringing civil service reforms but with this announcement, the things are again proved to be going nowhere.
The announcement goes like this "All the “ranks of the armed forces”, it is proposed, be allowed a 15% special allowance of their running basic pay from July 1, 2021."
The key takeaways from the sanctioning of this extra allowance:
  a) It will be admissible during Leaves except Extra Ordinary Leaves.
  b) It will not be treated as part of emoluments for calculation of Pension/Gratuity and house rent recovery.
  c) It will not be applicable to personnel on foreign deputation/attachments.
  d) It will be admissible during the entire period of suspension from service.
  e) It will be admissible to personnel on repatriation from any foreign deputation/attachment to their parent cadre.
The point to ponder here is that how come allowances be decided for the most powerful institution in our country while inflation is wrecking havoc nationwide ?
