PKLEAKS 25.0: Major Reshuffle in Top Brass: Power struggle Intensifies

    Welcome to "PKLEAKS_25.0"......
It is saddening that our Army, once known for high standards of Discipline and Efficiency, is now embroiled in internal fight and struggle for power.
Things have really taken a turn for the worse, following the clash between former ISI Chief and the COAS. The former ISI chief, who showed excessive exuberance in his Taliban adventure, violated all codes of conduct in the Army and launched himself as an international mediator, later turned out to be the orchestrator and Godfather of current regime in Afghanistan.
The very fact of ISI, openly interfering in Afghanistan, finally establishing a government comprising top wanted terrorists, really tarnished the reputation and credibility of Pakistan and its Army at the global stage. It also resulted in violent clashes within the Taliban ranks, with the Doha Group sidelined and unconsulted, ultimately resulting in infight and instability.
The former ISI Chief was summoned at GHQ and asked for an explanation by the COAS. Eventhough his prayer for pardon got accepted, tremors of the scuffle have not dampened yet. The deep fissures in mutual trust seems to be the only tangible outcome of the entire episode.
Another incident which added fuel to the fire is appointment of a Shia Officer as the Chief of General Staff(CGS). With the COAS planning to have a Shia successor, the appointment of Lt General Azhar Abbas has become a dream-spoiler for many in the top ranks, Ex.ISI:DG Lt General Faiz Hameed and Rawalpindi Corps Commander Lt General Sahir Shamshad, being a few.
It is an irony that the future of Pak Army and the Taliban looks the same. With both lacking international support, credibility and internal unity; torn by internal scuffle and mistrust, these two dispensations are doomed to fail. For the Taliban it was destiny, but for our Army, unfortunate to say, they just asked for it!!!!
